Upper Rhymney update

I am pleased to receive a progress report on the work of the Community Safety Teams in response to concerns raised by local residents.

We should shortly see the publication of a “Community Newsletter” to provide important information to local residents. Some of the concerns raised by you are dealt with by partners other than the Police. So we have asked partners to make sure residents have the contact details they need. This is important information so the right organisation is contacted with problems. We all need to help each other as we move forwards.

Planning work continues for partners to hold a Community Event in Rhymney with further advice sessions planned for Abertysswg, Pontlottyn and Philipstown.

The timing of these will depend on securing a suitable venue but I am pressing for these initial events to be confirmed or completed early in the New Year.

As you will be aware Police and Crime Commissioner Jeff Cuthbert joins me in joint surgery this Friday, 8th December in Elim Church, Pontlottyn.

I have also arranged a meeting with the Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO) to discuss activities in the Rhymney valley.

I am working with my colleague Gerald Jones MP and we have met Arriva Trains Wales to discuss transport issues and the Cabinet Secretary for the Economy around the South Wales Metro and jobs.

Do not hesitate to get in touch but please note the advice below:
