Help our Welsh NHS – Choose Well

Dawn Bowden AM has asked all constituents to take note of the very important advice from the Welsh NHS Confederation today about the pressures on our hospital and NHS services at this time. The statement by the Confederation states:

“Our members will continue to work hard to meet people’s needs throughout the winter period and beyond. During this time we would also encourage people to work with us, where possible, by choosing the right service when they are unwell, making use of the Choose Well website, minor injury units, GPs, pharmacies or NHS Direct Wales, and only dialing 999 or visiting A&E when it is an emergency. In addition it is important that people who are a high-risk group have their free NHS flu vaccination by contacting their GP surgery or vising a participating pharmacy”.

Dawn Bowden added “I know so many Welsh NHS staff are making a huge effort to cope with the winter demands currently being placed on the service. I thank them all. Let us also play our part by following this advice which aims to reduce the huge pressure on critical A&E and other parts of the service”.
